Your Hosts:

Patrik & Sarah Ondrus

We’re a husband & wife sharing a love of the river and a love of Montana. Our goal is for every guest to experience the same thrill we feel every day living here in the mountains. We want to make your adventure special. Patrik was born in Prague and grew up in Bavaria, Germany. Sarah is from Oregon and was a Guide in Yellowstone Park. Where did we meet? On the river, of course! It’s been a magical journey... and we’ll make your journey magical too. Please come join us for a day you’ll never forget!

What time do we need to arrive before our trip?

Check in is a half hour before the trip departure (example: if your trip time is at 3:00pm, please check in at 2:30).  If you're running late please call us as soon as possible.

Do I need experience?

No, the Yellowstone River is a fun for the whole family without being technical or requiring a high skill level.  Anyone who is physically able will paddle and anyone who's too young or unable to paddle can sit in the middle.

Age Limits

For whitewater trips, children must 6 years old or 40lbs. On scenic floats, all ages are welcome. Floats are a “dry” trip (no whitewater) and there's no paddling required. Just relax and enjoy a magnificent day on the river.

Do I Need Special Gear?

All whitewater gear is included: lifejacket, booties, splash jacket and wet suit (if needed). Bringing a towel and change of clothes is recommended for your comfort if you're not staying at Chico Hot Springs Resort or near by. On scenic trips: no gear required but we recommend bringing a jacket or sweatshirt if it is cooler out.

What do I need to know about horseback riding?

Chico Horse Barn offers many different trips from 1 hour to Half Day rides with lunch, Moonlight Rides, Full Day Rides in Yellowstone and even pony rides for your Little Buckaroos in training.  The age limit is 6 years old and up.  Weight requirement is 225 and under. We recommend long pants and require closed toe shoes for your safety. You're welcome to bring water and your camera (at your own risk).  You may tip your guide at the end of the ride.

May I bring my dog?

Yes, we are dog lovers too!  In order to serve you and be courteous to other guests, we charge a private boat fee.  This ensures you have a carefree trip on your own boat so you can enjoy the river with the beloved, four legged members of your family.  Bringing your dog is only available on Scenic Float trips, not Whitewater trips.

Please call for more information.

Cancellation Policy?

We do require a 48-hour cancellation notice.  Any cancellation that is not 48 hours before your scheduled departure will be charged the total cost of the trip. No shows will be charged the full price of the trip.  PLEASE give us a call if you are expecting a delay or are not able to go on the day of your scheduled trip. We would be happy to reschedule our trip. Phone 406-722-6505

Will there be photos of our trip?

Yes, we have a photographer who takes amazing photos on every Whitewater Adventure. Pictures will be available for viewing and to order after your trip.  Guests on Scenic Floats or taking Horseback Rides will want to bring their own camera... you'll have all kinds of great photo opportunities!
